Hello and welcome,

I understand the problem.

An endometrial thickness of 28 mm is high. So she will need further investigation to look for the cause.
The common reasons are endometrial hyperplasia or excessive growth of the endometrium. Other causes are polyps and very rarely endometrial cancer.

A Dilatation and curettage [ D and C] or a hysteroscopy [ preferred as direct visualisation of the endometrium is done with a camera] will be needed to be done to collect samples from the endometrium and study them under the microscope. Further treatment will depend upon these reports.

Do not worry as endometrial hyperplasia is fairly common and can be treated. Meanwhile she may use drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding after consulting your doctor.

Hope this satisfies your query.
