Suggest Treatment For Brown Vaginal Discharge And Vomiting During Pregnancy

Age : 24 History: Had a miscarrigae in August 2010 in 5 weeks Last period date: 15 Feb Pregnancy test taken: 20 March (+ve) Slight brown discharge: 22nd March onwards Doctor put me on Duphaston (dydrogestrone), asprin, and folic acid. Have been having discharge on an off. Had bleeding on 1 April and was put on complete bed rest. Doctor did a scan to make sure that it wasnt ectopic pregnancy. The sac was in the right place. Since then, I have been on complete bed rest. Lot of nausea and vomiting. Did first HCG on 2 April (count 36,600). Second HCG on 5 April (count 116,500). Aversion to food and cravings at all time high. Have still been having discharge on and off. First scan for heartbeat is scheduled on 12th. I am very worried. Please guide.

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy can be due to threatened abortion, subchorionic haemorrhage or ectopic pregnancy.
Since ectopic pregnancy has been ruled out in ultrasound, then the treatment is same for both subchorionic haemorrhage and threatened abortion. Progesterone support( duphastone in your case) and hCG injection are given.
I would suggest you not to worry and get a review ultrasound for the appearance of cardiac activity of the fetus.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
