Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis, Prolonged Cough And Itchy Throat

I was treated for bronchitis and given medication azithromycin and 2 bots of guaifenesin dm. My xray was clear. Dr. told me to finish the guaifenesin. My cough did not stop and I have been coughing for three weeks after the medication due to itchy throat but I do not have a flu or fever. My regular medicines are atenolol for highblood and cetirizine for allergy. I also have astma and pumps albuterol twice as needed although the asthma does not bother me. I stopped cetirizine and took the over counter allergy medicine allegra. It helps for a short while but makes my throat dry and gives me dry cough. The cough bothers me mostly night time and early morning which affects my sleep. I have a bubbling white mucus. I also take Prilosec for acid. What is the cause of my prolonged cough and itchy throat?

Dear sir/madam, refer to your history it seems you are having allergic bronchitis for which I would suggest you to take rotacaps inhalation by rotahaler once a day at bedtime. In addition I would like to mention that only cure for allergy is to avoid the allergen that is something which triggers the attack like dust, pollution, pollens or exposure to cold or some food items like dairy products or spices. To identify the allergen you have to keep an eye on exposure of any of above dp you get attack and then start avoiding that particular thing. other helpful measures are to take saline steam inhalation before going to bed and you can also do some breathing exercises.I hope it would help you to get better and healthy life.
