Suggest Treatment For Broken Ribs And Chest Pain After Injury
My husband hurt his chest last week, saw doctor early this week who reckons he broke a couple of ribs (front left side). He said to take paracetamol and tramadol regularly (my husband cannot take ibuprofen or codeine). Our concern is that his pain is getting worse rather than better, and is spreading, so he is now sore right across to the other side of his chest and also through to his back. Agony with certain small movements but twisting to look over shoulder is OK. Should he go back to doc or to a&e or not necessary? Thanks in advance.
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that your husband is having multiple fracture ribs. He got this injury nearly one week ago. He is taking analgesic but not in much relief. I want to say that pain of fracture ribs remains for nearly 3 weeks. He is advised to take rest most of time sitting with support and advised to not move more. You can discuss your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
