Suggest Treatment For Blood Stained Nasal Discharge
This morning I started blowing out a reddish brown (extremely thick)mucus from my right nostril only. The mucus from my left nostril is a small amount and clear. I have had a cold for about three weeks(currently taking theraflu), and nothing seems to have changed.

Hi,
Your short history of having bloody discharge only from one nose after having cold for 3 weeks is suggestive of one of the following reasons:
* Infective rhinitis on one side only.
* Sinusitis on one side probably.
* Incidental mass on one side.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
Nasal endoscopy by an ENT Surgeon.
CT scan of sinuses for sinusitis or mass.
Relevant tests of blood.
All these things will an appropriate diagnosis and thus allow a specific treatment.This can be change of antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicine, Topical nasal decongestant drops and oral decongestant.
Any other medicine as per the diagnosis and surgery if indicated.
