Suggest Treatment For Blood In Stool And IBS

I am a 79 year old male in good health. I have been having problems with bowel movements the past few days -- minimum volume. Last night I noticed blood at the end of the stool. This morning with a minimal bowel movement I noticed some blood on stool and the water was pinkish.

The blood seemed fresh (brighter red)

Have IBS for years. But have been regular with rare bouts.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related time haemorrhoids. I recommend using anti haemorrhoids cream for local application.

I also recommend soaking in warm water for relief. I suggest drinking liquids and taking fibre supplements to avoid constipation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
