Suggest Treatment For Blisters On The Lips After Oral Sex

Hi, I have a history with cold sores, the irritated spot looks more like a blister. I maybe get them once or twice per year mainly caused by stress. But after I preforme oral sex on my girlfriend no more then 12 hours later I get a blister on my lip. She had no history of cold sores and I only get them on my mouth. Is this a cold sore? And what can I do or take to stop this (other than stopping oral sex)

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The blisters you are getting on your lips look like cold sores (herpes simplex-type 1). Visit ERf scrap from the affected part. Avoid sex for a couple of days, stay away from all addictions. You need anti-viral's (Acyclovir), take medications after consultation with the treating PCP.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K.
