Suggest Treatment For Bleeding In The Nose

Hey. I hit the top of my head on a sturdy wooden beam. Minutes later, I had a nosebleed, followed by several very minor streams of clear fluid. It is hours later now. I have had no more bleads or nose-runs, but I have this very slight feeling of... detachment from my senses. A strangeness about the head. Does that sound serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bleeding from the nose can be managed by pinching the nostrils together & applying pressure with the thumb & index finger. Relax & sit upright. Spit out any nose bleed from the mouth. Repeat. Simple nose bleeds will stop by this method. Due to excessive blood flow dizziness, feeling of detachment from the senses, light-headedness, fainting can be felt. In case of pain, swelling, bleeding, bruising, difficulty in breathing you are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT & treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
