Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of bleeding hemorrhoids, back pain, have appointment with Neurosurgeon on June 16, taking 8 Oxycontin a day due to surgery of spine in 1994.
Since the bleeding hemorrhoids is a semi-emergency as you are unnecessarily loosing blood and can lead to anemia needing
blood transfusion.
I would advise you teh following:
Take an urgent appointment with a
General Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination , per-rectal digital examination,
colonoscopy if you are an aged patient to confirm that you have bleeding piles and nothing else and may be to go for a therapy like
sclerotherapy, cold therapy or excision ligations as the case may be to get removed the piles and to stop the bleeding at once.
Hemoglobin correction if required.
Sitz bath
Laxative and food alteration to have more fibers.
Keep the appointment of a Neurosurgeon or postpone it as per the possibilities generated.
