Hello, If the abortion was complete, you can expect some bleeding to occur for at least a week after the procedure depending on the period of pregnancy. If the abortion is incomplete with some retained products, the bleeding will be persistent, possibly foul smelling if infection sets in, associated with the discharge of pieces of conception. In the latter case, diagnosis can be confirmed through a trans-vaginal sonogram and check curettage is done if the products are more; else, one can wait with medication for spontaneous expulsion.
