Suggest Treatment For Black Vomit

For the past few months, every time I vomit, there are black chunks. There are usually tan, brown, yellow, or sometimes red bits too, but always black stuff. I thought it had to do with quitting smoking, but this has been going on for a while every time I vomit. What could it be and should I get it checked out?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have black vomit . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like alcoholic liver disease , cirrhosis, liver cancer , peptic ulcers , bleeding in esophagus , gastritis , GERD or kidney disease. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound along with endoscopy along with stool test . Doctor may prescribe proton pump inhibitor , H2 blockers along with antibiotics . Doctor may also prescribe drug like sucralfate for heeling of stomack lining .
