Dentist, Prosthodontics 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
What you have described seems to be tartar as it may look black due to stains. it sits in between teeth, on teeth and gums as well. Presence of tartar causes gingivitis ie : inflammation of the gums resulting in bleeding.
I would suggest you to visit your dentist for a thorough clean up ie: scaling and polishing which will resolve your problem and make your gums healthy.
Regards
