Suggest Treatment For Benign Essential Tremor In Hands

My husband has been told that he is experiencing binign essential tremors in his hands and it is worsening, and he is really getting depressed over this because he can no longer work on the internal parts of computers with a steady hand. My question is, where can he go to be tested and find better results in ceasing his hand tremors.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Sudden onset hand tremors can occur in anxiety, hyperthyroidism, some neurological conditions other than Essential Tremors. So before making a diagnosis of Essential Tremors one have to rule out these conditions. Essential tremors cause significant change in mood and individuals start showing depressive symptoms. These tremors respond to beta blocker drugs like Propranolol. The drug is known to reduce these tremors and is safe to use. You can discuss with his doctor for that drug and he would feel better.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
