Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! 17 years ago I was in an accident and my lower back was completely fused(mid waist down). Three months ago I was on vaca and did a underwater back flip. Nothing that hurt. Just messing around with my sister. Since then the indentation has greatly increased in my back and I have experienced a great deal of more pain. Before this, back pain would come and go every other month for a day or so, nothing big and it was nothing that I could not deal with. Since the vaca I have had back pain almost every day. Should I be seen or is this simply a pulled muscle?!!
I have studied your case. Yes it can be pulled muscle also but there can be nerve compression also. Due to compression of this nerve root there can be pain in your back.
I will advise you to do MRI spine For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
