Suggest treatment for atrial fibrillation with RVR

Atrial fibrillation with RVR. 82 year old white male. History of mini-strokes. Diagnosed with SSS- went in for an AV pacemaker. Came out with AFib with RVR. Now afib is at a rate 50% of the time at 100-120. and 2 % of the time up to 180. He is on lopressor XL bid 150mg. What would you suggest next?

Hi,

Your ventricular rate under control. If you're pacemaker implanted then it may generate minimum 65 bests/minute.

In atrial fibrillation with controlled ventricular rate may be treated with oral diltiazem, if not controlled need cardioversion. I think your heart rate under control does not need to worry.

You can take warfarin to prevent thromboembolism. Use continue above drug, if you have more questions feel free to ask.
