Sir, My mother(72 year old) has been suffering from arthritis problem for the last 15 years.

Her weight is approx.85 kgs. She could walk without support say till 2 years back. Now for the last 2 years she has become immovable and her body weight has increased from 66 kgs to 85 kgs. now. She has been taking pain killers and applying bam etc. With the help of a walker she moves 20 feet a day now. If you could kindly advise if any medicine which can cure this or knee replacement is suitable or any other options ?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.

Total knee joint replacement patient find good difference in mobility after joint replacement.
So you can do TKR after consulting joint replacement surgeon, there will not be any problem probably.

Post operative Physiotherapy like ultrasound and tens will help, along with knee exercises for early recovery.

For further details you can contact on my profile directly http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-vaibhav-gandhi/63503
