Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Disorder

hi there, my doctor just prescribed me xanax for anxiety problems ive been having but he said to take them when it starts, but also to not drive or anything after, my problem is that the anxiety happens all day some points it subsides but its a pretty constant thing , are there any recommendations you can give me on when is the best time to take it?

Hello thanks for asking

Xanax is alprazolam and this is a benzodiazepine drug. Usually in my clinic I prescribed the Xanax on SOS basis as the drug is having high abuse potential. Still with drug you are having anxiety so I would recommend you to consult your psychiatrist again for proper treatment of anxiety.

SSRIs like Sertraline, Escitalopram, Paroxetine etc are main drugs used in treatment of anxiety. These drugs correct chemical balance in brain and help to decrease anxiety. These are free of abuse potential and are free of serious side effects.

Apart from that you can try relaxation exercises, progressive muscle relaxation exercises, breathing exercises for proper relaxation.
