Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Disorder And Shortness Of Breath
I am 63 and about two weeks ago began having episodes of shortness of breath. They don t stop me from doing anything just really annoying. I take meds for HBP and take a tranquilizer as needed (not often). I did notice today after taking the tranquilizer that the episode has eased up. I have been known to have anxiety but heart disease runs in my family. I have been tired and not sleeping really well. I see my doctor every 4 months and this past year by blood sugar hit right at 7. We are treating it with diet changes. No chest pain, no other pains to speak of. Last blood work in May everything was normal except cholesterol and blood sugar.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, possibility of anxiety related shortness of breath is more in your case. But better to rule out heart diseases first because you had high blood pressure and cholesterol. So first get done ecg and 2d echo. If both are normal then no need to worry for heart diseases. Stress and tension can cause similar symptoms. So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. Along with drugs, counselling is very important in controlling stress and anxiety. So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
