Suggest Treatment For Anxiety, Acid Reflux, Severe Headache And Nausea

Hi my son has anxiety and suffers from reflux. He takes nexium. However, a lot of times he eats fried or heavy foods that cause flare ups. My question is can an un-healthy gut make you prone to sickness? He seems to get sick a lot with viruses. Currently has a severe headache, waves of nausea, feels hot/chills but no fever presently.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear User,
Thank you for contacting HCM. Your son's symptoms might be caused by the presense of H-pylori bacteria. Doing an endoscopy is the definitive way to make sure he does have it or not. Please refer to a gastroenterologist for further follow up on the treatment, the doctor might prescribe what is known as the triple therapy which includes 2 antibiotics and one anti acid.
Best,
Dr. Nazzal
