Suggest treatment for angular cheilitis

I have had cracks at the corner of my mouth for almost a mouth. More recently it has worsened and redness and itching around the area are now occurring. Also it scabs over and makes it difficult to open my mouth without breaking the scab. I believe it it Angular Cheilitis however my primary care would not do anything except give me hydrocortisone and to contact a dermatologist. The hydrocortisone reduced the itching and redness but has not fixed the problem. what can I do on my own to fix this?

According to your history angular cheilitis looks the possible diagnosis. It can be due to candida or bacterial infection or some nutritional deficiency. Is there any history of diabetes or use of dentures? You should use cream containing clotimazole beclomethasone cream on the affected area along with tablet containing vitamin supplement. This will surely help you.
