Suggest Treatment For Anger Issues, Suicidal Thoughts And Depression

Hi I am a 21 year old women and I need major help and I need it now. I have been diagnosed with depression after a failed suicide attempt and I know I am bipolar I also think I may have borderline personality disorder. I am always very moody I'll cry then get dark and suicidal at times I will stare off into space and not think of anything and before I know it I have some how spaced out and lost hours of my day. All I do is sleep and this has been going on for months I have also been getting Very angry lately and once i'm angry I cant control myself I try and keep my hands busy so I wont hurt myself or cut myself I will often jerk or twitch when I am this angry and I will blow up over little things like going out and not getting a certain food item I was wanting or having forgot my debt card at home. The anger is getting worse. I know I have mental disorders I just dont know what they are or how to treat them.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You are 21 have depressive disorder. You also attempted suicide and have some bipolar symptoms also. The symptoms like mood lability, crying spells, suicidal ideations, remaining on bed through out the day, anger outbursts etc all suggest depression and these symptoms should not be ignored. Please dont remain confined to the bed and try to spend your time in talking to some friends and family members. Persistent frustration is leading to anger outbursts and this should be treated. Visit a psychiatrist and get properly evaluated yourself. Medicines like SSRIs as Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, Sertraline etc are commonly used in depression. Apart from this Cognitive therapy is one of important psychological method of treatment.

Visit a psychiatrist for help and take proper treatment.

Thanks, Take care
