Suggest Treatment For An Urinary Tract Infection

I had a UTI about 5 days ago, but the symptoms got better. However, starting yesterday, I felt it again but not as severe. I ve been drinking a lot of water (since 5 days ago), so RIGHT NOW by urine doesn t really hurt. However, I have been getting chills and have a fever. I don t have much money, so I m wondering if I can cure this now, or if it is very serious. I also think I have slight lower back pain (I realize this might mean I have kidney infection)- but can I make these go away by drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice? I don t have much money so I don t want to go to the doctor if I don t have to. The fever is what scares me the most.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The presence of fever mandates there is a significant amount of infection provoking the body`s acute inflammatory response.

* In the case, where you can not visit your doc for financial reasons my recommendations are

- manage to have a good antibiotic as cephalosporin for best pathogen coverage

- continue plenty of liquids and cranberry sachets

- consume chewable vitamin c supplements

- lemon juice, buttermilk, turmeric powder will help at the herbal level

- avoid stress, anxiety

- avoid excess sun exposure and worsening dehydration

- tablet Tylenol 3 times a day after meals.

* Do follow up online after 48 hours about the progress.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
