Suggest Treatment For An Ulcerated Wound After An Insect Bite

Hello. My name is Chris and I live in Battle Ground, WA. I think I may have been bitten by a hobo spider or possibley a yellow sac spider. I have some pictures of it I could send. It s current appearance is an ulcerated wound with what look like where two fangs punctured the skin. There is now a rash forming around the wound mostly below where I was bitten. It is about 4 inches above my ankle. I think I was bitten about 10 days ago. The changes to the wound have been very slow occurring. Any insight would be appreciated. I do not currently have health insurance. I have a couple other bites as well but the next most serious wound is on my wrist. Thanks for you help in advance. - Chris

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your insect bites.

You need to keep the wound clean, avoid scratching to the wound, wash it with antiseptic solution like Pivodene or hydrogen peroxide and cover it with antibiotic cream like Fuciderm.

Make sure if the lesion is spreading more than what was present at the time of bite you may need a oral antibiotics like Amoxycilin clavulinic acid 625 thrice daily for a week provided you are not allergic to it, you have no associated medical condition and you are not taking any drug which is in contradiction with it.

If you feel itching, you may also need the anti allergic medication like levocitrizine once a day for a week too.

Don't be too stressful as it will heal within a week or two. In case there is cellulitis, Pain, swelling, much discharge of pus you may need to visit an emergency room.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further queries are to be answered.

Regards
