Suggest Treatment For An Abscess Near The Anus

My mom is 86 and developed an abcess near her anus which has develpmented into a yeast infection. Was in hospital, on antibiotics, and now home but it has not gotten worse but hasnt gotten better. Ihave to change dressing 3 times a day or more if a bowel movement is involved. Help!

Hi thanks for your question.

You have not mentioned size of abscess.

Your mom's abscess mostly will be large in size so healing not faster.

In hospital abscess might be drained.

Now keep patience and do daily dressing of that area by initially with betardine and h2o2 for few days.

Keep wound clean and clean fecal material whenever present.

Vitamin c reach fruits and green leafy veg given more to her.

Keep wound open for few minutes while dressing and apply topical betardine ointment over that.

Antibiotic taken for few days.

Prolong prone position avoided.
Somewhat walking done in house daily to prevent bed sore formation.

When there is red granulation tissue seen in wound then it suggest wound is in healing stage.
