Suggest Treatment For Allergic Rashes On Feet And Hands

My son went into urgent care with hives and difficulty breathing. Three days later the hives continue even though he is taking Zyrtec, Benedryl steroids and an inhaler. His breathing is ok now, however, he woke up with swollen, painful hives on his feet and hands in adition to where he had them before : torso, scalp, ears and nexk. Should we go to emergency or wait to see an alergist. I might add he drinks lots of caffine and is getting ready for college finals.

As your son continues to develop hives even after 3 days of being on multiple medications I would suggest you to go to a doctor to get him completely evaluated. He will have to undergo multiple tests like complete blood count, absolute eosinophil count, TSH, Urine routine ,Stool examination for ova and cysts, ANA, complement levels and skin biopsy if required. Also ask him to avoid foods containing preservatives and artificial colours and any drugs other than those prescribed.
