I have had a severe cough for about 4 weeks now and was diagnosed with acute bronchitis. Over the last 4 days it has gotten much worse. I have coughing fits that leave me gasping for air. I hear and feel popping or fizzing in my lungs when I breathe and more pronounced when I cough. I can t sleep well because I m coughing so much (the codene cough syrup that my doctor prescribed doesn t help). It s so bad that I lose control of my bladder when I cough. I also get severe pain shooting up the left side of my head and behind my eye.
