Doctor! i am 21 y old male, unmarried, student, having acne problem. i had acne during my secondary and college time, but the pinkish red marks dont fade away. also i get pimples at those same sites as marks like every month roughly. they are reddish, painful and pointed with pus and go away in 3,4 days themselves leaving the marks back again. this happens almost at same points of my cheeks or forehead with 2,3 pimples at the time. want to get rid of it, especially the acne spots. thanks!

Hi,

You said you suffer from acne vulgaris. It is a multifactorial disease. There may be different forms of acne like comedones, papules, pustules or cystic lesions.

Stress, anxiety, sleeplessness, drugs like steroids, oil food,dandruff..etc might exacerbate the disease.

I can understand your anxiety for acne. But, please have patience for the good result. Avoid stress and worries. Take good sleep. Avoid oily food.

You may take antibiotic like minocycline 50 mg daily in morning or azithromycine 500 mg three tab per week..daily for three days in a week.and isotretinoin cap in low dose of 5 mg daily at night . Zinc and vitamin C tabs would be helpful for clearance of the acne lesions.

Apply clindamycine gel in morning and adapalene gel at night. Cleanse the face with antiseptic like acmed face wash.

Have pateince for the result. It may take few months for the good result. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
