Hi

You seem to have developed recurring folliculitis of the scalp .
It is basically an infection of the hair follicle roots .
You need to Keep the affected area clean and dry.
Wash your hair with an antiseptic betadine based shampoo twice a week .
Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the lesion twice daily.
You might need a course of oral antibiotics if the lesion still tends to persist or increase.

Hello....my 17 year old daughter has scalp acne and has been on doxycycline (sp? this antibiotic did not clear it up) and now her dermatologist wants her to go on Isotretinoin. Everything I have read about this drug is horrifying and something we are not willing to do or risk. I am willing to buy good shampoos/conditioners for her. Is there anything else you could recommend? We thought about seeking out a different dermatologist too. Thank you
