Suggest Treatment For Acne On Face, Chest And Back

My son has horrific acne on his face,chest and his whole back. He has been on Minocline for a couple of years,50mg BID and when he ran out his acne worsened. He restarted 50mg after a couple of months and it did not help, so his MD increased it to 100mg BID. It looked better for awhile and now has worsened again. What should he do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of acne on face, chest and back which occurs when there are hormonal changes and clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum, dead skin and bacteria get infected.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to

- Apply Adapelene gel once at night.

- Apply antibacterial ointment topically such as betnovate.

- Avoid oily and fried food and make use of product containing benzoyl peroxide.

- Take Multivitamin supplements.

- Drink plenty of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet.

If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course.
