Suggest Treatment For Accidental Inhalation Of Spray Paint Fumes In A Child

I was spray painting indoors for about an hour and a half... I had the windows open. My 7 year old wanted to help... We both had masks and gloves on but somehow ended with residue inside our nose. Should I worry? Also my two year old was two rooms away with the air conditioner and a window open... Should I be considered about him as well?

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of accidental inhalation of spray paint fumes which contains polyurethane which is toxic. There are several harmful substances used in paints, depending on type of paint being used such as volatile organic compounds, known as VOCs, which are cause of bad health of child.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash face properly with plenty of water and keep on inhaling fresh air. If any symptoms occurs consult doctor without any delay and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly because condition sometimes become complicated.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
