Suggest Treatment For Abnormal Behavior In Elderly People
my 86yr old sister in a nursing home, her attitude has changed badly, she pretends to be asleep won t get up in am refuses her showers nasty to family members and other people that live in the home. She is friendly with otherworkers there I don t understand whats going on.
I am sorry to hear about your sister and her behavior problems in the nursing home. Changes with aging can cause some significant and difficult issues with growing older and having dementia. Your sister sounds like she has dementia and exhibits her behavior with refusal to take baths and behavior poorly with others. Her doctor could suggest and prescribe medications that may help reduce her behavior issues. I recommend that you be present with you sister when her doctor comes by to visit her so you may express your concerns
