Suggest Treatment For A Swollen Lymph Node In The Neck
Hello. My lymph node on the right side of my neck is swollen. It is right below my ear and jawline. I had mono in June and have noticed the lymph node hasn't gone down much since then and swells back up when I get a cold or am really stressed. Is this normal? Or should I be concerned?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swollen lymph nodes after cold and cough that is a Viral infection is due to Reactionary Lymphadenopathy that is secondary to infection.. If it is the cause then you need not to worry as gradually when the infection will gradually resolve the swelling will also subside.. But in case if the swelling does not subside consult a physician and he can advise you to get a Biopsy of the lymph nodes done for confirming the cause and can treat you accordingly.. As of now do warm compresses over lymph nodes and take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
