Suggest Treatment For A Swollen Knee After A Fall

It is pretty much just like the question below. I hurt my leg when I fell from getting caught up in my cats toy. I went to the emergency because the area below my knee swelled really fast and it looked as if I had another knee. It isn t my knee that hurts, but under my knee where it is still very swollen and it was bleeding up until yesterday (just a little). Now my ankle is black and blue and swollen. I am afraid of getting a blood clot, but my ankle does not hurt, but under my knee is still swollen, and hurts. I don t want to go to the emergency room again, but I am really afraid that something is wrong. I took my mom to her heart doctor yesterday and he just looked at my knee. He gave me Ciproflaxcin HCL and I wasn t swollen in my ankle yesterday so I didn t get the prescription filled. I am getting two implants done soon and I know I am going to have to take pills then so I am hesitant to take anything. I filled the prescription a few hours ago, because of the ankle situation. Do you think I should do anything else. I am going to ice it again in a few minutes.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, knee join is very fragile unit and highly vulnerable to injury and here in your case fracture need to be ruled out and it may not be just fracture but other structure would be matter of concern, so better to have orthopedic opinion, anti-biotic won work here in absence of infection, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day
I find this answer helpful
