Suggest Treatment For A Sore Throat And Body Ache

My 6 year old daughter is complaining of a sore throat and some body aches. The only medicine I have in the house is Nyquil and I have no funds available to buy anything at the moment. Would it be all right to give her a half of a dose or a third of it to alleviate her pain?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is nothing but a bout of pharyngitis or sore throat. A short course of antibiotics preferably Amoxclav can be tried. Warm saline gargles can provide symptomatic relief. In severe cases an ENT consultation will be useful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
