Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi There

I understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that it's not the shoulder which can cause a fall in heart rate.

It's advisable that you should consult a cardiologist personally and discuss your options and get a Ambulatory Holter monitoring done to find out what type of rhythm abnormality is happening.

I wish you good health

I am 23 3 weeks ago my heart rate was normal 70-80 beats per minute. Now my heart rate has been between 50-60 beats per minute for the last two weeks. I am not athletic the only thing that i can come up with is i just got off of clonazepam ( a benzodiazepine ) could that cause the decrease in my heart rate or should i go get it checked out at the hospital? I do not have palpitations, but do feel tired..

Hi I had a mining accident in 2002. My ribs have been popping out of my back in the left shoulder blade area. Not one doctor has ever told me what it is. It s pretty painful and happens frequently. I had major shoulder surgery last May because the MRI was misread in 2004 and I have a neck injury also as a result of the fall. I fell sideways and basically tore everything. I was told it was Hypermobility? I have all of the medical reports as well to better explain.

I had compound fracture with im rod & screws 7 years ago. The rod was removed 4 years ago & i had knee surgery for torn meniscus. I had occasional knee pain throughout the years that has since increased to a dull deep ache every other day. I lost my arch immediately after the first surgery its uncomfortable to walk long distance. While walking the knee often it clicks. Its caused chain reaction of other problems including back/hip pain & shoulder surgeries prbly due to crutches. Is it time to get the knee checked out to see whats going on?

I had arthroscopic shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago. Had complicatins from the scalene block including a paralyzed diaphragm, vocal cords and swollen eyes and was hospitalized for 4 days. Last night, I noticed an area between my collar bone and base of neck that feels like fluid. Called the doctor's office and since I was going to PT today, they asked me to have the therapist check it. The therapist said it felt like fluid but it is not an area where fluid normally is. Could this also be associated with the scalene block?
