Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump On The Thyroid Gland

hi my mother had been diagnosed with slightly high calcium levels, and have now discovered a lump near her thyroid gland which they say cant be removed as it is to dangerous, and say they cant do anything for her. she is in a lot of pain, with flu like symptom s all the time, her lips and mouth are always burning, and has severe pain in her stomach. is there anything she can take, or we can do to ease the pain, we have tried everything ? this is going on over a year now and she is getting very depressed.

She is suffering from primary hyperparathyroisim. There are only 2 choices available for patients with primary hyperparathyroidism- conservative do nothing or surgery. For a mild form of primary hyperparathyroidism surgery is not prefered much because standard parathyroid surgery in the past required the use of general anesthesia and was a major operation. it is caused by a tumor that has developed from one of the parathyroid glands. The new minimally invasive parathyroidectomy techniques are developed and it is better you consult a tertiary care hospital with new techniques. The procedure uses local anesthesia that sends patients home in a matter of hours. there is no medication as such for this problem.she needs to avoid calcium rich food in diet like all diary products and ragi etc. antacids for pain in stomach and the burning sensation in lips and mouth B complex vitamin tablets will be of help.
