Suggest Treatment For A Painful Blister On The Feet

I got a blister 7 months ago from a pair of ill fitting high heels (for a wedding) its located about 1 inch below my second toe on my right foot. Never popped the blister to prevent infection, it never really healed what i thought was a callous soon became very painful, upon inspection I noticed the callous looked strange it was semi translucent and appeared to be on top of a hole, walking on it feels like I m constantly stepping on a pebble or a small piece of glass. So it s been there for 7 months and just today while I was at work I pivoted on my foot and felt a sharp pain, upon inspection it looks like the callous tore Away on one side revealing a small deep hole I removed the rest of the dangling callous skin underneath is a pale purple with the hole directly in the middle going down into the meat of my foot. It doesn t look like a wart I have had one before I cant figure out what it is but I do know that it hurts

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of the painful blister, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
