Suggest Treatment For A Lump On The Tongue

I have developed a hard peas sized lump near the tip of my tonue. It is inside the tonue. It is more on the left side and more noticeable from on the bottom part of the tongue. It is not visible by just looking at the tongue. It is only noticeable when I feel my tongue between my lips or teeth. It is only painful when pressed hard. Can you please advice what might be the issue?

Hi.
Once you have noticed a lump in the tongue , one thing is for sure that it is not a normal part of the body.
The probable causes can be:
Foreign body granuloma
Benign lump of the muscles
Cancer

This can be ascertained only by a clinical examination, FNAC or Excision biopsy.
I would advise the excisional biopsy for 2 reasons
1. You get rid of the lump and
2. you get a histo-pathological diagnosis to be certain what the disease is and carry on further treatment if needed.

MRI sometimes may help in diagnosis.
I find this answer helpful
