Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I discovered a lump on the upper inner thigh of my left leg. There was no pain and I am 95% + sure it was not there previously, nor was it smaller and growing. I do not recall a bug bite nor is there any discomfort; even upon contact. What could this be?
I understand you are concerned about a lump on your thigh.
While it's hard to say confidently what it is without seeing it, if it is soft then the most likely diagnosis is a lipoma, which is a benign collection of fat cells.
There are easy to miss and it may be that you have had it for awhile without noticing it. Another possibility could be an epidermoid cyst.
Both of these diagnoses don't require any treatment unless it is bothering you. However, if the mass is firm or hard, you should have a doctor look at it and possibly biopsy it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
