Suggest Treatment For A Itchy Brown Spot On The Leg
Husband had a light brown spot about 1 inch long on his front leg in shun area closer to ankle. A few days later it turned a dark red. Today it is dark purple. Any idea what it is? It doesn t hurt, isn t raised, hard or blistered. It doesn t go away if pressed either. Concerned as I was told by my sister who is an LVN that it could be all kinds of scary things. Che hasnt suffered any trauma to the area either.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy brown spot on leg which seems to be due to hair follicle infection leading to folliculitis and it could be due to furuncle or boil. Need not to worry. You should avoid touching or pricking bumps. I would suggest you to apply topical antibacterial ointment. Visit dermatologist once if symptoms keeps on persisting. Start treatment after complete examination and proper prescription. You should get skin patch test and allergy test done to find out exact cause of disease and start treatment accordingly. You should wear loose clothes and avoid sharing them with anyone. You should apply betnovate ointment on them 2-3 times a day. You should take course of oral antibiotics. Maintain complete hygiene and keep area little dry.
