Suggest Treatment For A Head Injury

My friend had a head injury when she was 13, and her head was stepped on by a horse. She had surgery and now has a metal plate to fix the problem. The other day however she complained to me that she got hit on the opposing side of her head by the wooden handle of something. The second day she said her head hurt and it is now the third day and she woke up this morning in a lot of pain. She s the type of person who puts school before her health and she will listen to me if I have proof. I told her to at least have it looked at. Is this a good idea? I asked her where the pain was and she said this morning it was in the middle of her forehead, and a few moments ago it she said it was on the side (The opposite of her scar) her scar is very sensitive and she has dealt with being hit there before but I dont know to what extent. I just want her to be ok. Please help me and if you can explain what this pain days later could be. Also I checked her eyes and they are dilating fine to a flashlight. please help me, she has had alot of problems and I just want to know if she s ok, or if we should seek medical attention and I pray its not too late to do so. Please respond as soon as you can

Hi,

In the process of seeking medical advise, you should mention the time durations with proper chronology. You said that she was operated when she was 13 years old and what is her age now....? How many years passed after surgical intervention?

Considering few factors into assumptions, assuming it as third or fourth post-operative week. The pain will be there unless you take some good analgesics.

Secondly, injury to head with severe pain and/or vomitings need to be evaluated further by a CT Scan brain. So Get a CT scan brain and report to a neurosurgeon.

Get FUNDOSCOPY and Visual Acquity checked by Consulting an OPTHAMOLOGIST. Don't delay in the evaluation process.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah
