Suggest Treatment For MRSA In Blood

I was admitted on 06.07.2015 with mrsa in my blood. Have been on 1 gram vancomycin every 8 hrs for three weeks. My blood has been clear of mrsa for three weeks but there was an infection in my lungs. A cat scan showed anomalies when first admitted, as of three days ago the anomalies have been greatly reduced. I m the sole provider for a family of four, and am being told I shouldn t leave until July 10, due to these anomalies. My question is this, is there an oral antibiotic I can take from home to finish this treatment? I have no allergies.

HELLO,
i can understand your concern.
i assume that you have been admitted with MRSA causing pneumonia.
the treatment given to you with vancomycin thrice daily is correct.
the treatment usually ranges from 7 to 21 days with the antibiotic based on the treatment response.
recurrence of mrsa are hard to treat, so its always advisable to be 100 % sure of the cure.
i would advise you to consult your treating doctor for the same.
oral tablets which can now be used is linezolid or clindamycin
it would be difficult for me to suggest any of these without a thorough examination and a look at the ct scan.
i would advise you to discuss with your doctor regarding the oral drugs for you.
hope that i have answered your concerns.
feel free to ask further queries.
wish you a speedy recovery.
thanks for choosing HCM.
