Suggest Treatment For Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Hello Doctor,I am suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome as advised by a gaseontrologist. So he prescribed 3 medicines, Spasmonal (for 3 weeks morning 2,afternoon2,night 2)for controlling the pain,Immodium(fpr 6 days in the morning) for controlling motion(the dosage is over),Econorm sachet(dosage morning and night 1 for 1 month) and Eldicet 50 mg.(for 3 weeks morning 2 afternoon 1 and night 2)

I finished Immodium as the dosage is over and took spamonal for 1 week and stopped that.

I am working in Dubai and I am going to India next week and will buy Eldicet and Econorm.

Nw i am suffering from 2 problems

1)Not feeling hungry

2)Abdominal minor pains now and then and abdominal discomfort now and then especially after i eat.

3)Feel of going to motion but not going for more than once in a day.

I took Blood test,Stool test and Blood test for Thyroid and all results came as normal.

Please advise whether you I am facing the above 3 issues and whether should I have tp continue Spasmonal?

I am now taking foods at the right time 4 times a day.

Hi,Dear,Thanks for your query to HCM.
Dear I read facts of your query and reviewed it in context to your query health issues.
I understood your health concerns and feel Concerned about them.

Based on the facts of your query the reply of your query is-
YOur current health issues seem to be related to your drug side effects with IBS .
Ans-1-To improve hunger, you Should give rest to stressed and drug paralysed bowels,at lease for 1 week.Be on skimmed Butter Milk to recoup .

Ans-2-To reduce the abdominal pains-You need to be on liquids only.
Reduce your 4 times meals to -porridges x 2 times if your health can allow.
Be more on fluids and black tea and black coffee supplements.Increase solids when acceptable ONLY.
Ans-3-Bowel movement false- feeling is due to irritable bowel distrubed with your 4 times meals.

Do's-
Continue Tab Imodium 1 x 2 times to reduce the confused bowel status.
Add Sporolac- 1 x 2 weeks.
Tab Ciplox-500 mg 2 times a day x for 10 days
Vit B12 and folic acid supplements would resolve the issues soon.

Avoid spasmonal to reduce the bowel paresis and lack of appetite.

Recheck with the GI physician and endoscopist to revise the treatment.
Your GI Surgeon- doctor would be doing all that is needed to treat your current health issues.
At the most You can think of Second opinion of another GI Surgeon to check if you are being treated on right lines.

Constant followup with local family or specialist Physician-for long term would give you long remissions in time to come, which would depend on meticulous followup treatment of your health concerns.

Just don't worry and be patient and co-operate with your doctors, till you verify with your attending doctors.Need to Check with Consulting GI Surgeon- if need be, if things don't recover.

For early recovery-please follow above do's which would resolve your complex health issues.

Hope this would help you to treat your health issues in the best way possible.
