Suggest Treatment For GERD

I have acid reflux, I also have other problems, I have been scheduled for a endoscopy, which I do not want. I have been getting heavy yellow phlemn. in addition i have a pacemaker and have had colon surgery. should i have this test. or can it be substituted by another test?

- Drink plenty of liquids in sessions .
- Consume soft , light diet at intervals .
- Avoid oily , spicy , non veg stuffs , hot beverages , junk food .

- Keep head end of the bed elevated for 20 - 30 degrees .
- Avoid rest for 2 hours after meals .
- Regular walking in fresh air , exercises , YOGA help a lot .
- Avoid smoking , alcohol .
- Avoid stress , anxiety .

- Regular sound sleep of 8 hours .
- Intake of proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole ( 20 ) mg on emtpy
stomach morning and evening with sips of water gives best results .

* If after practising this for minimum 10 days , you have symptoms then
discuss with your doctor about the need of alternative test .
