Suggest Treatment For Escherichia Coli Infection

My daughter 4 months old has been struggling while going urine. Doctor suggested to given Taxim-o for 5 days, even after that she had same problem, so doctor suggested for urine test which reported Escherichia coli more than 10^5 cfu/ml.
1) what causes Escherichia coli ?
2) what to do cure Escherichia coli completely?
3) will it cure completely?

E Coli is normal comensal in the stools.
Contamination of stools in the genitals may cause infection of urinary tract due to short Urethra in females.
It can be completely be cured.
