Suggest Treatment For E Coli In Urine And Irritation In Vagina

I was on a 10day K-Flex for a rash which I was told might have been caused by a bladder infection. My vagina and urine tested positive for ecoli after 10 days of cipro My vagnia and urine tested AGAIN positive for ecoli and I was prescribed a second round of Cipro which I just finished today. My infection seems worse as I am urinating more frequently with small volume, and very irritated in the area at all times. I am dry and irritated according to my GYN. I plan on calling my GYN tomorrow to tell him all is worse. I just read some devastating news on the use of CIPRO which I have been having rib and spine pain since on it. Do you have any suggestions on how to rid myself of the ecoli without scripts and what can I do to help the irritation of the area. Thank you.

Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. The bacteria can have resistance to antibiotic ciprofloxacin. So a culture and sensitivity should be done to find out that. If there is any resistance then a sensitive antibiotic should be replaced. I prefer Nitrofurantoin in such case which is sensitive to most resistant infection. Ciprofloxacin has a side effect of getting tendinitis in some. So if you have pain in any part of body sudden once you should report your treating doctor. Taking cranberry juice or barley water will be helpful to get rid off infection faster. Using intimate wash for your genital area also is good.
