Suggest Treatment For ADHD And Anxiety

hi dr rynne....i have adhd and anxiety. Currently i am taking Concerta (27mg) and zoloft (15 mg). i am feeling that i lose my patience easily and get annoyed at the littlest things. I also feel I am more impulsive and angry. Which medication do you think is causing this?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have ADHD and also anxiety disorder. You are taking Concerta 27 mg and Sertraline 15 mg (?) for this. Concerta is an amphetamine drug and the drug is known to cause increased restlessness, excitation, impulsiveness etc symptoms. In some individuals the drug can precipitate anger outbursts. Sertraline is a SSRI drug and the drug helps in reducing anxiety, anger outbursts so in my opinion Concerta is exacerbating the symptoms you are having. If these symptoms are persisting and are causing impairment in functioning then visit your doctor for help.
