Suggest Treatment For ADHD And Aspergers Syndrome

My ten year old has aspergers, ADHD and mood instability. He currently is taking concerta 18mg x2 daily, Prozac 10mg x1 daily. He has a very difficult time with his mood and controlling his anger. We really need to get him on a medication to control his anger as he is having a hard time in school

Hi, Thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
If such a patient comes in my clinic I would give him a trial of Risperidone for anger outbursts. Also he needs to undergo cognitive and behavioural therapy to control the anger outbursts.
He needs to be trained in the fact that to feel angry is right, but anger has to be manifested in such a way that it does no harm to others.
You can play social games with him showing the ways to express anger and child commenting on it whether it is right or wrong.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank You.
