The intrahepatic ducts are well defined and not dilated. Impression: Hepatomegaly with fatty infiltration. Iam nor smoking nor taking any alcoholic drinks, but was diagnosed to have hepa b in 1992. Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Your liver ultrasound report shows an enlarged liver with fatty changes. You mught be having non alcoholic fatty liver. Research shows that the components of metabolicsyndrome (obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidaemia) are associated with the presence of non alcoholic fatty liver in patients with chronic hepatitis B. The presence of hepatic fibrosis seems to be associated with known host and viral factors as well as the presence of abdominal obesity. You must get your scan and blood workup done annually or once in two years.
