Suggest The Dosage Of Vitamin D3 Supplement

how much vit D3 do w e need? And is IU and mg the same measurement? My doc gave me prescription for 10.000 mg of vit D . Can I use the o/c kind and just take 5 tablets of the 2,000 Iu type at the drug store as it is very expensive in a prescription.

Vitamin D is usually prescribed as international units (IU) dosages and not conventional milligrams. You can use five packets of 2000 IU instead of 10000 IU. Keep in mind that exposure to natural sunlight stimulate production of vitamin D in the body itself.
